Anyone can fake your face.
No one can fake your digital signature.
Deep Authenticity — Make deepfakes of you worthless.
Sign your content with a verified digital signature before publishing. Anyone can instantly prove what is real.

The thinking behind
Deep Authenticity
This video explains the core insight — the technology, the identity gap, and why solving it matters now more than ever. The solution to deepfakes has been hiding in plain sight.
Originally produced for the Authenticity Institute — the foundational research organisation behind Deep Authenticity's technology.
The missing piece was always identity
Digital signatures have existed for 40 years. The technology was always sound. What was missing was a reliable, verifiable link between a cryptographic key and a real, accountable human being.
Proven technology foundations
Digital signatures are not new. The mathematics that makes them work — public key infrastructure — secures every bank transaction and every HTTPS connection on the internet. It is proven, battle-tested, and trusted at the highest levels of global commerce and government.
The identity gap
The problem was never the technology. The problem was the question that digital signatures alone could not answer: how do you know with measurable certainty that the signer is really the person they claim to be? That gap left digital signatures unable to fully deliver on their promise.
What AI changed
For decades, deepfakes were a theoretical risk. AI changed that. 80 million synthetic images are generated every day. A fabricated image or video can spread to millions of people in hours — before any denial can catch up. The identity gap is no longer a theoretical concern. It is an active, daily threat.
The infrastructure that now exists
Government ID verification, biometric matching, and professional credential verification now exist at scale. For the first time, it is possible to link a digital signing key to a verified, real human being — with the same rigour used to verify identity for financial services and legal proceedings.
Bad actors WON'T sign.
AI has no identity to verify. It cannot hold a signing key. And any human bad actor who signs content creates an irrevocable, digitally signed and traceable record linking that content to their verified identity — a legally accountable act. Signing is the deterrent. Signing is the proof.
Proven technology.
New application.
Deep Authenticity did not invent new technology. We applied proven technology — the same infrastructure that underpins global banking and SSL — to a problem that previously lacked a human identity layer. Three components, working together.
Identity verification first
Before any signing key is issued, the person's identity is verified through government ID, selfie, and liveness — going far beyond a simple email signup. A verified real human being. This is the layer that every previous content authenticity system was missing.
Digital signing
Content is signed with the creator's private key using SHA-256 — the same mathematics that secures global banking. The result is a mathematical fingerprint unique to that file and that person. Any change to the content, down to a single pixel, breaks the signature.
Dual-hash verification
Two fingerprints are created simultaneously — a cryptographic hash for pixel-perfect verification, and a PDQ hash that identifies visually similar content across platform recompression and resizing. Anyone can verify any content instantly, through the public verification vault.
Only content that is digitally signed by you will carry the clickable verification that it really came from you — and that not a single bit was changed since you signed it.
A source of authority that everyone trusts.
The certification authority behind Deep Authenticity — the City of Osmio — was chartered on March 7, 2005 at the Geneva headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union, the oldest international governance body in the world, founded in 1865 and a UN agency.
Osmio is the continuation of the ITU's World e-Trust Initiative, although Osmio is no longer organizationally connected with the ITU.
Deep Authenticity offers a solution that's built on two decades of work — building the identity infrastructure the internet always needed, now deployed at the moment the world urgently requires it.
The SSL of digital content
"HTTPS didn't eliminate bad websites. It created a trust layer that let the internet function at scale. Deep Authenticity is building that same layer for content by making the real provably real. So the internet can function with trust again."
What every competitor does
Detection — chasing fakes after they have already spread. A reactive race against technology that is improving faster than detection can keep up with. Missing a significant proportion of modern deepfakes today. Missing more tomorrow.
What Deep Authenticity does
Proof — establishing the real before the fake can exist. A proactive position that does not depend on detecting anything. The signed original exists before any impersonator can act. The truth is already on record.
Privacy for yourself.
Accountability from others.
In a nutshell, Authenticity is Pervasive Accountability with Privacy. Everyone wants privacy for themselves, and everyone wants accountability from others."
Real privacy
Your signing key is yours. Your verified content is yours. No platform owns your identity or your proof. You sign before publishing — on your terms, in your workflow. Your identity is verified once and your key is issued to you permanently. No intermediary holds it.
Real accountability
Every piece of signed content is linked to a verified, real human being. There are no anonymous publishers in the Deep Authenticity ecosystem. Anyone who signs content is traceable, accountable, and legally identifiable — creating a powerful deterrent against misuse from the moment of signing.

The founding team
Deep Authenticity is not a pivot. It is a conviction — built on years of work on identity, digital signatures, and digital trust.
The origin of the problem. Wes is the founder of the Authenticity Institute and the architect of the identity infrastructure that Deep Authenticity is built upon. In the early 1990s, as Delphi — one of the world's first social networks — faced the transition to the open internet, he confronted the exact problem Deep Authenticity solves today. The famous Peter Steiner cartoon captured it: "On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog." Accountability and privacy — which had been central to Delphi's value — were gone the moment users moved to the open highway. Wes has been working on the solution ever since.
